The Assessment of the Potential Hepatotoxicity of New Drugs by In Vitro Models.
Liver toxicity is a significant concern during drug development, necessitating early measurement. Human hepatoma cell lines, such as HepG2 cells, are commonly employed for in vitro studies of liver function, metabolism, and drug toxicity.
In this technical note, we showcase the utility and advantages of using AlphaLISA assays to identify and quantify AST protein levels in cellular lysate and supernatant from a human hepatoma cell line.
